Every now and then we need a storage box for some of our small things, hairpins, cosmetics, documents, etc. We can make such a box ourselves. Tailored. According to our needs. And we also use an unused old box or cardboard, we will also be able to decorate it according to our taste and we will be wonderfully relaxed while making it. It's nothing difficult. Let's go.

• An old cardboard box in the size you need
• Glue suitable for paper
• Scissors
• Brush for applying glue
• Self-adhesive decorative foil (wallpaper)
• Alternatively, plain paper as a base under the foil

1. Find an old box that matches the dimensions you need. Alternatively, you can cut it down if, for example, it is higher than you need. If possible, peel it off, it will be more convenient for you to stick all layers and it will be easier for you to handle it. Remove all protruding pieces from the surface - a large layer of glue, dust, thick descriptive labels... So that the surface is as smooth as possible and nothing sticks out.

If you have not been able to find a box that meets your requirements, then make it entirely yourself. You can use cardboard, an old cardboard box, hard paper, an old office file... Whatever you have on hand.

2. If you will have the box printed and this print would show through under the adhesive foil, I recommend first sticking the entire box with plain white paper. (If not, you can skip straight to point #7.)

3. Take a sheet of paper. Apply a thin layer of glue to the box section. A thin layer so that your glued paper does not crack when it gets too wet from the glue.

Press the sheet of paper. Attach one sheet of paper to another. Continue until you have one entire side of the box covered. You don't have to worry about the shape of the paper at this point.

4. Let the glue dry. Then take the box and cut the paper along all the edges.

5. Turn the box to the other side and start covering again with white paper. This time, keep the larger pieces of paper overhanging the box. When you have glued this whole side of the box and let the glue dry, cut the white paper again, but this time at least 1.5 or 2 cm away from the edge of the box. Then bend and glue these edges, preferably towards the inside of the box. This will beautifully adjust the edges of the future storage box.

6. Now take the decorative self-adhesive foil and cut it to the required size for your box. Leave a little overlap there, if you manage to glue crookedly, so that you don't "ride" with the foil sideways.

7. Remove the bottom protective paper from the adhesive foil to a length of about 2 cm and fold the paper over. Carefully glue this narrow edge to the edge of the box. Now you have a firm grip on the foil and you can handle it more easily. Always gradually unroll the bottom paper from the foil and stick and smooth the foil so that there are no bubbles under it.

8. After completing one side, you can cut the foil again according to the shape of the box.

9. Do the same on the other side of the box. Again, after sticking the foil, leave some overlap so that you can bend the foil inside the box and thereby strengthen and decorate the edges of the cardboard as well.

10. Now it is enough to glue the box back into its original box shape. Most of the time, paper glue would be enough. However, if you have a very smooth foil, it will be better, to sand the parts you want to glue, very gently with fine sandpaper. The glue will stick to you better. You can weigh it down or use clothes pegs before the glue dries.

11. There are no limits to further decoration. You can glue the edge with lace, beads, pretty pictures, stickers, wooden ornaments, a tag for a label...

12. And now you can enjoy your original design storage space.

Jak si vyrobit úložný box na míru

Každý čas od času potřebujeme úložnou krabičku na nějaké své drobnosti, sponky do vlasů, kosmetiku, dokumenty apod. Takovou krabičku si můžeme vyrobit sami. Na míru. Dle svých potřeb. A také zužitkujeme nevyužitou starou krabici nebo karton, také si ji budeme moct vyzdobit dle svého vkusu a při její výrobě se úžasně zrelaxujeme. Není to nic těžkého. Pojďme na to.

Co budeme potřebovat:

• Starou kartonovou krabici ve velikosti, jakou potřebujete
• Lepidlo vhodné na papír
• Nůžky
• Štětec na nanášení lepidla
• Samolepící ozdobnou fólii (tapetu)
• Případně i obyčejný papír na podlepení fólie

1. Najděte si starou krabici odpovídající rozměrům, jaké potřebujete. Případně ji můžete seříznout, pokud je např. vyšší než potřebujete. Pokud to jde, tak si ji rozlepte, bude se vám lépe polepovat a bude se vám s ní lépe manipulovat. Odstraňte z povrchu všechny vyčnívající kousky – velkou vrstvu lepidla, prach, tlusté popisní cedule… Tak, aby byl povrch co nejhladší a nic vám nevystupovalo. Pokud se vám nepodařilo sehnat krabici, která by odpovídala vašim požadavkům, tak si ji vyrobte celou sami. Můžete použít starý karton, starou kartonovou krabici, tvrdý papír, starý kancelářský šanon… Co budete mít po ruce.
2. Pokud budete mít krabici potištěnou a tento potisk by vám pod nalepovací fólií prosvítal, tak doporučuji napřed celou krabici polepit obyčejným bílým papírem. (Pokud ne, můžete přímo skočit na bod č. 7.)
3. Vezměte si list papíru. Na část krabice naneste tenkou vrstvu lepidla. Tenkou vrstvu proto, aby se vám lepený papír nekrabatil, když příliš navlhne od lepidla. Přitlačte arch papíru. Navazujte jeden arch papíru na druhý. Postupujte, dokud nebudete mít celou jednu stranu krabice polepenou. S tvarem papíru si nemusíte v tuto chvíli lámat hlavu.
4. Nechejte zaschnout lepidlo. Potom vezměte krabici a ostříhejte papír podél všech hran.
5. Otočte krabici na druhou stranu a začněte opět polepovat bílým papírem. Tentokrát si nechávejte větší kousky papíru přečnívat krabici. Když polepíte celou tuto stranu krabice a necháte lepidlo zaschnout, tak bílý papír opět ostříhejte, ale tentokrát alespoň 1,5 nebo 2 cm daleko od okraje krabice. Tyto okraje si potom ohněte a přilepte, nejlépe směrem do vnitřní části krabice. Tím si krásně upravíte hrany budoucího úložného boxu.
6. Nyní vezměte okrasnou samolepící fólii a ustříhněte si potřebnou velikost pro vaši krabici. Nechejte si tam trošku přesah, pokud by se vám podařilo lepit křivě, ať "nevyjedete" s fólií bokem.
7. Z lepící fólie si stáhněte spodní ochranný papír asi tak na délku 2 cm a papír si přeložte. Opatrně přilepte tento úzký okraj ke kraji krabice. Teď už vám fólie pevně drží a můžete s ní snadněji manipulovat. Vždy si postupně odrolovávejte spodní papír z fólie a fólii přilepujte a zahlazujte tak, abyste pod ní neměli bubliny.
8. Po dokončení jedné strany můžete zase fólii odstřihnout podle tvaru krabice.
9. Takto postupujte i na druhé straně krabice. Opět si po přilepení fólie nechejte nějaký přesah, abyste mohli fólii zahnout dovnitř krabice a tím si zpevnit a odekorovat také hrany kartonu.
10. Nyní už stačí krabici opět zalepit do původního krabicového tvaru. Většinou by mohlo stačit lepidlo na papír. Pokud ovšem máte hodně hladkou fólii, bude lepší velmi jemně přebrousit lepené části jemným smirkovým papírem. Lepidlo vám lépe přilne. Můžete ji zatížit nebo si dopomoci kolíčky na prádlo, než lepidlo zaschne.
11. Další dekoraci se meze nekladou. Můžete okraj polepit krajkou, korálky, pěknými obrázky, samolepkami, dřevěnými ozdobami, cedulkou pro popisek…
12. A teď už se můžete kochat svým originálním designovým úložným prostorem.
